Group Classes

Group classes are a cost-effective and fun way to address most dogs’ training needs.

• New class structure and curriculum specially designed to smoothly transition our gentle, effective training techniques from classroom exercises straight into your life

The Sympawtico Dog Training Studio, tiled with commercial grade Armstrong SAFETY ZONE Tile: a safe, sanitary working surface for dogs and their families.

The Petiquette Plan

Simple is better.  In our quest to make training easier, more effective, and most of all enjoyable for both you and your dog, Sympawtico Dog Training, LLC has streamlined our program to give you the very best instruction in the most efficient format possible so you can quickly be on your way to Living well together.  Your new life starts here:

Petiquette 1 is the ideal opportunity for dogs and their families to learn and grow together!  Instruction emphasizes a combination of learning theory and techniques rooted in the exciting field of behavior science.  Through a combination of attention building activities, socialization, handling skills, and simple cues, this class will lead each family to a greater connection with their four-legged fur-child. Week one is a required one-hour Orientation for people only, to give you the foundation on which to build your training success.  Instruction is for puppies and dogs aged 10 weeks and over.

Petiquette 2 builds on the skills taught in Petiquette 1, using real-life scenarios to challenge both you and your dog to live your training in a new way.  Proofing and problem-solving make Petiquette 2 your number one Plan for training success!  Classes begin with new games and activities designed with your life in mind, and quickly progress towards the challenging American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Test administered in week eight.  Instruction is for puppies and dogs of any age who have completed Petiquette 1.

PLEASE NOTE:  Because our group class curriculum is unique, all dogs entering the new Sympawtico Dog Training, LLC Petiquette Plan begin in Petiquette 1, regardless of their training history or age.

Petiquette 1 and Petiquette 2 classes meet one hour per week for eight weeks. Please contact Suezanne for evaluation before enrollment and for scheduling. Families welcome (children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult; very young children must be supervised by an adult not involved in classroom activities).  In most instances, classes are limited to four dogs and their families.

Saturday Cycle

New!  The Saturday Cycle: a fun way to supplement and enhance your Petiquette Plan one hour at a time!

The Saturday Cycle offers classes and play groups on a rotating schedule for all currently enrolled students.  Choose from Puppy Play and Problem Solving or Tricks for Kicks classes. Pre-registration is required to keep class-sizes small – simply sign up in class each week or contact Suezanne to register by phone or email.  Schedules will be posted in the Sympawtico Studio, and payment is due with registration.

Puppy Play and Problem Solving

For currently enrolled pups aged 10 weeks to 5 months and their families, these classes offer a combination of socialization and discussion to meet all of your puppy training needs.  Each class will include both puppy playtime and discussion.  A rotating schedule of topics includes:

Potty Training 101 Managing Kids and Dogs A Realistic Approach to Barking And The Chewing and Digging Primer

Pick the topics that most interest you, or attend all of the sessions offered throughout your Petiquette Plan to really jump-start your puppy’s socialization process.

Tricks for Kicks

For all currently enrolled pups and dogs, aged 10 weeks and up, the Saturday Cycle Tricks for Kicks classes offer even more ways to communicate with and enjoy your dog.  This rotating schedule of tricks classes includes:

Handiwork: Shake, Paw, High Five, and Wave The Motion of the Ocean: Roll Over and Crawl Whirligigs: Around and Spin And Ta-Dah!: Back-Up and Take a Bow

Choose one class, or attend all four to put together a finished routine that will wow your family and friends!

Private Instruction

Private instruction can help tackle persistent problems such as house soiling, digging, barking, pulling on leash, separation anxiety, and even aggression, while at the same time building a healthy relationship between you and your dog.  From basic manners to complex cues, private instruction can encompass it all!

• Tailor-made instruction based on your individual wants and needs 
• Gentle, effective training methods will help you to build a stronger bond with your dog, while encouraging good manners and reliable behaviour
• Purchase consultations individually or in packages to suit your needs (see Services and Pricing Quick Reference for more information)
• Most consultations take place at the Sympawtico Dog Training Studio; in-home private lessons available at the trainer’s discretion

Private instruction is available for dogs of any age.

Other private consultations include:

• Kids and Dogs Consultations: How much would you pay for peace of mind?  Interactions between kids and dogs can be joyous and safe when everyone in the family knows the rules.  In one 2-hour session, and for less than the cost of an emergency room visit, learn to manage your two-legged and four-legged pack to perfection.  Kids are encouraged to attend with their parents.  Sympawtico Dog Training, LLC’s Kids’ Club Activity Book included in tuition.
• Dogs&Storks Presentations and Private Consultations: Created in 2002, the national Dogs&Storks program has helped hundreds of expectant parents integrate their two-legged and four-legged family members using gentle, effective techniques that are also fun and safe.
